House heads at the ready as the next freakin poddy comes courtesy of Belfast's JMX aka John McIver. Enjoy!
From His RA: "Belfast based JMX fascination with dance music started at a young age when he acquired his first set of turntables and spent hours upon hours getting to grips with the art of beat mixing. He was first influenced by heavyweights like Carl Cox and Joey Beltram who were playing guest spots at the Hellraiser raves held in the Ulster hall in the early nineties. On the local front influences came in the form of David Holmes and Ian McCready who ran the legendary SugarSweet parties in Belfast. Later John regularly attended Digital Boogie and got a real taste of proper electronic music by hearing what guests like Chris Duckenfield, Hipp-E, Miguel Migs and Ralph Lawson were up to behind the decks. As a result of all this he quickly developed a love for house music and would religiously scour local record shops every weekend looking for the freshest sounds he could find and bombard the town with his mix tapes. It wasn''t long before people took notice and John got asked to play at Shine one of Belfast's longest standing club nights, after a few stellar performances he was soon asked to become an official resident. It was here where John ended up playing back-to-back dj sets with local DJ Timmy Stewart and the Jet Project was formed when they decided to combine forces in the studio. Over the last few years as one half of Jet Project John has had an impressive array of releases on some of the worlds biggest imprints including Get Physical and Soma to name a few plus holds a residency at Belfast's finest house and techno club night, Yello.
With this experience and continued love for all things house John decided it was time to unleash some of the solo material he had been working on, until now only being played in his own sets. JMX sees John draw on his earliest influences wanting to merge vintage sounds with his own blend of bass heavy drum laden house grooves. With ep's scheduled to drop on labels such as 2020 Vision One Records and Tsuba, 2012 is looking like a year JMX's name is going to ring out!

Belfast Dj Timmy T-Bone Stewart is renowned for his slick ability to move between styles, whether keeping it deep and disco edged in more intimate surroundings or jackin' out the acid and techno in his main room sets. He seems to have a sixth sense in knowing exactly were to take a dance floor, not that surprising though as he has a wealth of experience under his belt. Some of his first productions under the New Aluminists moniker were picked up by Manchester's legendary Paperrecordings & San Diego imprint Siesta Records, he's currently one half of the production & DJ team the Jet Project as well as recording raw darker edged grooves alongside fellow acid house lover Bubba. Recent productions appear on labels including Get Physical, Viva, Intimacy, Snatch!, Darkroom Dubs, Act Natural and his own Extended Play label which he runs alongside Duckbeats & JMX.

The first Freakin podcast of 2012 is an exclusive mix from Manchester's Miguel Manzano.
In his own words:
"Miguel Manzano AKA The Lowrida AKA The Hammer AKA Rassputen AKA Klaus Koppner AKA Bell End.
The man with many names has had many residencies in Manchester and has played all over Europe. Starting from an early age, his older brother showed him the ropes on the SL-1200's with loads of 80's Soul, hip hop, disco and funk breaks stuff. Also in the mix came the late 80's hip-house revolution and all the first Chicago Traxx & DJ International gear, the NY garage was also in the mix of course.
Not content with bedroom mixing, he started his own garage parties with his school mates, mainly to get smashed and play spin the bottle... But the music was always at the forefront, religiously listening in on the radio shows that were pushing weird new UK & US street sounds.
"Leaky Fresh and 808 State on Sunset 102, and Stu Allen on 103, were really pushing US and UK underground stuff. Break Dancing, Skate Boarding, Graff, NWA, Todd Terry, Carl Cox, Sasha & Nipper were all massive in the early year. I was well into it all, but then I went all dark with the Tech Step and Hardcore shit. That was when I started going to raves and that. I think that's why some of the darkness comes through in my music today, but it's only in parts now and I always roll out of it back into a groove, don't want people going under do we! It's always gotta have an element of something soulful or funk driven, even if it's a crazy drugged out acid track, it's got to have a groove and swing to it. even if it's an industrial techno record it has to have some funk and movement."
With this mix I decided to take it on a deep Berlinesque vibe. I just made that word up by the way/
"

We are pleased to present a superb exclusive mix from acid house northerner Craig Bratley. Get locked into this groove!!!
From his RA biog:
Music usually enters musicians’ lives in a number of ways. They are usually nurtured by a musical family, exposed to music from an early age through their parent’s love of music, or music finds them. Craig Bratley definitely falls into the latter category. Whilst most of his peers were raised on their parent’s collection of soul, funk and disco records, Craig’s upbringing was more Barry Manilow than Barry White…
Craig’s first introduction to electronic music was 80's electro, a few years later he discovered acid house.
A passion for this music led to Craig DJ’ing and then moving into the world of production. Over the years Craig has been developing his knowledge and skills and with each release has enhanced his reputation, his records being supported by many of today’s most respected DJ’s and producers including Peace Division, DJ Sneak, The Inland Knights, The Revenge, Craig Smith, Ali OOFT, X-Press 2, Steve Bug, Groove Armada, Rob da Bank, Jim Stanton, Rub and Tug, PBR Street Gang, Greg Wilson, Andrew Weatherall, Toby Tobias, Duff Disco and many more.
